Signature Talent LLC is very excited to announce our participation in the launching of an amazing new restaurant lounge unlike anything Washington DC has ever seen. Sax Restaurant Lounge is set to open on April 28th, 2011 at 734 11th Street, NW, Washington DC in the space formerly occupied by Posh. The building has been completely rethought, redesigned and renovated by Errol Lawrence and Nancy Koide, owners of Oya and Sei. The interior design brings to mind a French roccocco opera house and features gold leaf accents, push red velvets, mirrors and lighting effects. The feeling is warm, sexy and sophisticated. We will be exclusively spinning the latest and most up to date lounge/chill style tracks to complement the amazing menu and drink options and to provide the soundtrack for the dancers who will perform in a mirrored stage located above the bar. For photos of the renovations in progress and for more details, check out the recent article in the Washington Post Going Out Guide
On February 26, 2011 David Grimm of Signature Talent LLC produced a bat mitzvah for a great guest of honor and a great family. Event elements at the Tysons Corner party included an amazing dance floor lighting package, ballroom uplighting, DJ with sound system upgrade, MC, three dancers, comedy magic and mind reading with Tim Hall and great music, games and dancing.
SignatureTalent can easily provide any production element you can imagine for your special event.
I shot this video in Havana in February 2008. It represents how I feel about the complicated state of living in Cuba. The spoken poem I wrote means:
The malecon is very beautiful
The farther away from it you are,
the more beautiful it is.
But when you are up close, it’s slippery.
On February 18, 2011 DJ David Grimm of Signature Talent LLC performed at a charity event benefiting the National Rehabilitation Hospital at the Women’s Museum on New York Ave., NW Washington DC. The museum was transformed into a full on Las Vegas style casino for the evening with gaming tables, a great sound system, lighting, special decor and beautiful guests vibing to great music. The playlist ranged from chill out and “rat pack” style tracks in the early evening (thank you DJ Heather Femia for your perfect suggestions) to the driving groove of Swedish House Mafia as the event peaked.
Costs for entertainment depend on a number of things; but the date, length of the event, number of guests and complexity of the service provided are some key determining factors. When budgeting for the different elements of your event ask yourself, how important is music and dancing in creating a party atmosphere for you and your guests? If you want everyone to join you on the dance floor, then you will need a talented and professional entertainer with a state of the art sound system that will sound full and warm. For the best impact and focus, the music should be set up as close to the dance floor as possible. Today’s dance music, particularly toward the end of the party, will sound best by adding a sub woofer to the sound system to easily handle the lower frequencies without distortion. Dance floor effect lighting and architectural uplighting are two other elements that go a long way in transforming a room in a really dramatic fashion.

Having great music from the start to the finish of your party is a key element in the success of your event. How do select a great DJ for your party? Hiring a DJ from a reputable agency is very important. A professional booking agency has the resources to provide you with all the elements you will need for your party in one place and also has the personnel on call to provide a back up performer in the event of an emergency. Meet with the DJ in person as soon as possible in the planning process to get a clear idea of his or her style and approach. Are they flexible and experienced enough to weave your requests into a seemless mix? How easy are they for you to communicate with via email, phone and text prior to your party? And, very importantly, can they provide you with references from other clients they have worked with in the past who can attest to their professionalism during the entire planning process. Listen to what these clients had to say:
